Empreintes-Digitales, Believe et Fairtlizer, organisent un concours de remix pour le dernier track du groupe FLOU, intitulé La Publicité.

Pour y participer, rien de bien compliqué... Il faut d'abord récupérer les parts ici. Faites-vous ensuite plaisir à remixer le track comme vous le sentez. Il faudra ensuite nommer le track "La Publicité (votrenom remix)" et ajouter dans les tags "flou remix contest". Il vous reste plus qu'à uploader le track sur Fairtilizer (si vous êtes pas inscrits, ça prend 10 secondes et c'est bien sûr gratuit !). Après il ne vous restera plus qu'à attendre de savoir quel remix a été choisi par FLOU. Le gagnant figurera sur leur prochain EP, et aura droit aussi a quelques goodies de la part de FLOU ainsi qu'un tee shirt Fairtilizer.

Il fait beau il fait chaud, mais bougez-vous la deadline est prévu pour le 19 juillet !

What are you up to at the moment?
I’m in a club with Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy. They want to have sex with me. But I don’t.

Who is Flou and how do you work, who does what?
Flou is a trio from Lille. We love to eat children, drink beer and compose some hits on shitty PC with an old version of Logic. We play bass and guitar without amp. We make electronic music without Mac. We sing without voices.

What’s your next release about, why should we listen to it?
It talks about advertising, money, ego, madness and work. You should listen to it because you’ll broadcast it on your blog.

What’s your musical background?
Rondo Veneziano and Catherine Lara.

How would you define Flou sound?
It’s an orgy with Pamela Anderson, Benny Be, le Commandant Cousteau, Punky Brewster and Eric Cantona. It’s like making love with you clothes.

Influences and family?
Yeah, of course !

You gave away your first single, digital only, for free, what’s the philosophy/idea behind this?
We just used the good old method of New York’s crack dealers that consists in offering rocks to young people craving for new thrills and hoping that they’ll become addicts and make them rich. And, to have the CD for free, you just have to come on our gigs.

You are just releasing music in a difficult time for the music industry: how do you see the future for it?
It’ll die peacefully in its sleep like my grandfather. Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

As an artist how do you use & see the web today? How important is it for you?
As an artist, I use it with my computer. I see it with my eyes. It’s very important.

How do you see it evolving in the coming years?
I think it will become big.
As an artist, what would be your dream online music service?
I have a dream that one day this online music service will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created to listen Flou.”

You are unsigned, what do you expect from a label in 2009?
We hope they have a pen to sign up the contract.

What’s your favourite digital and physical format and why?
Viva K7 and MP3. Death to CD and vinyl’s revival !

How’s the scene in Lille ?
There are a lot of bands : Seik, Douglas and the Beauties, gachette of the mastiff, Louis Aguilar, Mad regal, the Lonely Twin, Sylvie Cious. There are not really good but it’s our friends so they won’t be happy if you don’t quote them.
And there’s also La Seine in Paris.

Places of interest in Lille?
“La cave aux poètes” to listen music, “le drugstore” to be drunk, “Enter your name“ to buy clothes, “le cheval blanc to watch old drunkard” playing Johnny Hallyday’s covers and the municipal Zoo to watch monkeys. There was also a white tiger, but he’s not here anymore. They have replaced him by a owl.

Best thing that happened to you recently?
I began to smoke cigarettes. It’s fucking cool, you should try it !

Number one junk food?
I’m french so I only eat frogs and children. I love also “le kebab sauce blanche au poulet”.

Best venue?
My girlfriend.

A movie you would like to watch now, right now?
A movie where I’m visiting my best venue.

Best place to live?
Next to me of course.

Impact tuning.

How do you know what time it is?
I count the bottles on the table. One beer per hour. But when I forget to throw in the garbage the beer of the night before, it’s a bit complicated.

I don’t have fave night dring. I love them all. White spirit for the morning.

Smoking or non-smoking clubs?
We can’t smoke in club in France. Except the fog machine which have a special dispensation.
